origami surface

This builds on the last screen exercise. The grasshopper definition generates a folded surface consisting of planar pieces with local hinge connections. A dynamic cut sheet is also generated to allow for easy transition to fabrication. By changing the distance and position of vertices between the two control surfaces, I can create a screen of variable depth and directionality. I am hoping this can become part of a deployable system that can rationalize complex surfaces into easily fabricated and installable structures.

Hi, I'm a student at GSAPP and I came across your blog, FormFarm. I'm actually working on a rigid origami surface for a facade idea, ultimately intended for fabrication. Would you consider sharing the grasshopper script you developed which accounts for hinge connections between panels? Thanks.
